Mind-body practices have been proven to be a beneficial resource for mental, physical and emotional health. They can assist in managing stress, discomfort and change, while offering improvements in focus, concentration, memory, mood, attention span, kindness and self-awareness.

Info Sheet: Trauma-Informed Yoga & Guided Meditation

Sample Formats

Introduction to Meditation (30 minutes)

  • The format of this Introduction to Meditation session will be approximately as follows: meditation overview (how it works, benefits and tips), a 10 minute guided meditation, a 5 minute silent meditation, meditation close. Following the session, the instructor will be available for questions. 

Guided Imagery (30 minutes)

  • The format of this Guided Imagery practice will be approximately as follows: meditation intro, benefits of imagery and visualization, a 12 minute guided imagery, a 5 minute silent meditation, meditation close. Following the session, the instructor will be available for questions. 

Trauma-Informed Yoga (30 - 60 minutes)

  • The format of this Yoga session will be approximately as follows: intro breathing and mindfulness, postures and movement focusing on mind-body health, final relaxation/meditation. This will be an introductory yoga practice, which is adaptable for all levels. No mat required. Teachings are trauma-informed and adaptable for all levels. Following the session, the instructor will be available for questions.

Chair Yoga (30 - 40 minutes)

  • This Chair Yoga practice will focus on postures and practices that are beneficial for individuals who sit for longer periods of time. The session will provide an opportunity to reduce tension and stress, while promoting mental and physical wellness. This practice combines breathing, movement, postures, mindfulness and relaxation. This is primarily a seated practice with a few standing postures while using a chair for support. Teachings are adaptable for all levels.

Mindful Yoga (30 - 60 min)

  • Join this live session for the opportunity to incorporate 45 minutes of Mindful Yoga into your day. This practice offers benefits for physical and mental wellness, as well as providing time to breathe, connect, focus and reset. The format of this yoga session will be approximately as follows: intro breathing and mindfulness, postures and movement focusing on mind-body health, a final relaxation meditation. This is an introductory practice, which is trauma-informed and adaptable for all levels.
